Daily Hardwood Care
Hardwood is an incredibly durable and easy-to-maintain flooring option. Part of what makes hardwood flooring so desirable is the lack of required maintenance. With all that said, some basic care is required to ensure that hardwood looks its best at all times.
Hardwood care generally revolves around sweeping. Investing in a quality broom and putting it to use on a regular basis is essential to ensuring a long and fruitful life for your hardwood floors. Sweeping helps to remove dirt and other debris that can scratch your hardwood floors and cause an overall grungy and outdated look. How often you sweep will depend on the foot traffic in the room, but you should plan on doing so every couple of days at a minimum.
Hardwood Spills & Stains
With hardwood, spills and stains are not cause for concern so long as you address them quickly. The longer you wait to wipe up a spill on your hardwood, the more likely damage will occur. While your hardwood may not take on immediate damage from a liquid spill, the subflooring beneath it could. It's always best to take care of spills and messes as they occur to ensure that your hardwood consistently looks its best.
